Welcome to the website of the North Auckland Gundog Club. Our members include enthusiastic beginners, social trialists and experienced handlers. There is something for everyone at our Club - we have an active membership and offer a range of events throughout the year including training sessions, training days, club days and championship weekends. A large part of our focus is training (both owners and dogs!) and over the summer months we frequently hold dedicated training sessions to foster our newer and also our more experienced members. As a club we pride ourselves on creating a supportive and knowledgable atmosphere to assist all of our club members, whether they are someone with a young pup, their first gundog or a more experienced handler. Additionally, some of New Zealand's best and most experienced trialists are members of our club and are always willing to lend an ear or have a chat at any Club event.
Our Club days are a great opportunity to socialise with other club members, pick up some tips and give trialing a go at our Club grounds just north of Kumeu in north west Auckland. These are also great practice for our Championship Weekends which are held twice each year and attract trialists from all over New Zealand together with spectators. Coming up we have our premier Championship event which will be held at Omana, Northland, over Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2012. We also have a schedule of Twilight Training each Wednesday night at Wharepapa Road, Helensville through until the night of 15 February 2012. This commences at 6:30pm - see our Calendar or contact our Secretary for further details.
We are a club that is committed to welcoming new members, encouraging beginners and experienced trialists alike, training our dogs and allowing them to develop and display their natural hunting instincts. This are always special to see - but what is equally special are the many friendships that are created through gundog trialing, not only within our club but also nationally. If you would like to find out more, come along to one of our events, or just have a chat to see what's involved, you are welcome to contact our Secretary, Sacha on 027 293 1776 or sjugum@hotmail.com.
